Hardmetal slurry processing must account for sedimentation, solvent composition, oxygen exposure and the granules required for pressing. The closed-cycle hardmetal spray drying system describes nitrogen circulation and pressure atomization for suitable tungsten carbide and WC-Co suspensions. Slurry storage, powder collection and cooling are coordinated with the drying stage.

Compare pressure-nozzle spray drying for droplet formation and closed-cycle drying for gas recirculation and solvent recovery. These address different parts of the process specification. Binder content, solids loading, viscosity, allowable oxygen level, residual solvent and granule properties should be defined together, with material trials used to assess powder behavior before downstream pressing and sintering.
